May is …

Mowing the grass for the first time …. with a thousand blackflies in your face

Listening to a symphony of peepers and bullfrogs in the pond

Beautifully colored trees – almost as pretty as fall … but don’t venture out to look at them or you’ll be covered with ticks

Making the transition from stick-trees to lush green lawns

Gearing up for the onslaught of tourists and mosquitoes

The promise of warmer weather, ice cream stands, and summer on the way

  1. WOW!!! What a tree!

  2. What a beautiful tree! I miss my flowering cherry so much – it was murdered a few years back in a windstorm by the neighbor’s falling tree. Cut it right in half and killed it dead. 😦 This tree in your picture is magnificent! Not too sure about the black fly thing, though….ick….

Yes, I agree. What an amazing tree! Spring sounds bittersweet, though. A combination of beautiful and ugly–gorgeous plants & flowers; not so gorgeous flies, mosquitoes & tourists!

Where the heck did you find THAT tree? It’s almost as pretty as my Red Tree in Melvin Village. You can have the bugs and ticks (ick) but send me some sunshine…..

  5. Wait just a minute there Ilene, that’s MY Red Tree in Melvin Village …
isn’t it Paige?!! It’s hanging on our wall in CO and our son’s wall here in Bothell. But, this tree is also exceptional. As for the NH bugs …you can have them! Great shot P. D
