Perigee moon

Tonight’s full moon was the biggest of 2011, and it is closer to Earth than it has been in more than 18 years. At 7:00 I parked at Mirror Lake, which I know from experience is a great spot to watch the moon rise, and I was not the only one with that idea. It rose large and orange, reflecting off the ice, and none of us were disappointed.

  3. Great shot Paige-e-e-e.
Our view was a bit obscured by clouds, but the moon lit up the local snow-covered mountains like a multitude of christmas trees.

  4. Super. Kind of like “moon over Miami”? Maybe not.
